Here’s a track from my new soundtrack for National Geographic/ Nova called Living with a star.
There’s a touch of guitar amp distortion on the cello there…

Winter Wonderland is a new album I’ve recorded with my friend the brilliant percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie.
It’s released today on iTunes and it’s rather Christmassy…! Here’s a track called Dalbergia…This one features an amazing Halo DrumHere’s just one more for now called Frost Flowers…
Hope you like the tracks. They’re all on iTunes here.
By the way, the photo above was taken at the weekend when we performed together at my Not So Silent Movies… series at Kings Place.

Whilst everyone’s looking skywards for stray fireworks… (it’s Guy Fawkes night tonight!) here’s a little piece I wrote for Inside the Milky Way. It’s called skysong. If you like it – you can download it by clicking the arrow on the right!
The amazing violin solo is my friend David Le Page. Total genius musician…
Lots of you have been writing in about my soundtracks to Moon Machines and the score to Inside the Milky Way. I really enjoyed writing the music for those shows and if enough of you want it… I’ll get a digital release underway. Let me know though…
Please share this if you like it or look at my other albums on Bandcamp & iTunes!
Thanks… Philip

It’s been a busy couple of weeks…
The Tillman Story has been getting the press we had hoped for in the USA – it’s coming to London too in the London International Film Festival. Please go and see it if you get a chance – it’s an important film (despite my soundtrack). He was an incredible man who was let down by his country. Possible soundtrack release on the cards too.
Relish opened at the Tramshed performed by the National Youth Theatre who I absolutely adore. I first worked with them at the Beijing Olympics, and we hatched this project right after that event. It’s on this week too – nb lots of swearing – especially from a foul-mouthed Florence Nightingale!
I’ve written and recorded a score for Relentless Lives of the Artists with UNKLE which premiered earlier this week. You can see it here if you like scary dangerous sports...
Meanwhile I’m in post on a couple of films which I’d love to tell you about.. but that’ll have to wait.
Here’s a new track called ‘Why I do what I do…’. If you like this kind of thing, then join my mailing list and I’ll send you free tunes!
His Masters Voice
Thought I’d revive this track as it’s had a lot of plays on SoundCloud.. and it’s a free download too. Try this tune too…
This is one of a series of tracks I’ve written for a new album I’m writing called ‘Music on the edge of Life’.
The picture is by Christophe Dessaigne.
From his site: Christophe Dessaigne is a French artist who lives in the south of France, in a small town called Perpignan, near Spain on the Mediterranean coast. His creations are open doors to fantastic and dreamy horizons where digital photography serves the fanciful imagery of surrealist photomontages. His universes are desolate, vast and insubstantial.
The track is (naturally) heavy on the electric cello…
Here’s a Christmas track to download by way of thanks for all the great support this year!
The robin laughed in the orange-tree:
“Ho, windy North, a fig for thee:
While breasts are red and wings are bold
And green trees wave us globes of gold,
Time’s scythe shall reap but bliss for me
Sunlight, song, and the orange-tree.
