The Final Year takes an unprecedented look at the shaping of US foreign policy. Philip collaborated with director Greg Barker and Oscar-winning producer John Battsek once again on the soundtrack for the new movie.
Greg Barker followed key members of outgoing US President Barack Obama’s administration up to the tumultuous election. The result is a timely, riveting film.
The film premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. The movie’s score was recorded at Abbey Road Studios and features the English Session Orchestra led by Clio Gould.
The film was acquired by Magnolia Pictures, which plans to launch a multi-city theatrical release and on demand, on Amazon Video and iTunes, on Jan. 19th, 2018 — the anniversary of the presidential inauguration. HBO will debut the film on the network in the second quarter of 2018.
