    Grammy News with Odesza!

    ODESZA’s third studio album, A Moment Apart, came out on September 8, 2017. This album marks my second collaboration with the Seattle-based electronic music duo. I scored and performed the strings for 3 of the tracks on the album: Line of Sight, Higher Ground, and Just A Memory.
    And now there’s some BIG news…

    The album has just been nominated for two Grammy Awards! I’m stoked about this as I’m a huge fan of what Harrison and Clay create and they’re constantly on rotation on my playlists despite the fact there are some noises by me in their tracks!

  • Express Tracks

    [youtube=http://youtu.be/O3Zldg4j88A]I’ve just launched a new project with my friends The Milk and dubstep pioneer Benga. It’s a soundtrack to your journey if you’re travelling from Victoria to Gatwick. It’s called Espressivo.

    It’s a free download with a ticket for the train (if you book online). There’s rather a clever site for it here. Benga and The Milk took my 35 minute track and re-imagined it in a totally new fashion…

    I’ve always wanted to do something like this, ever since I first heard Night Mail, the early experimental film featuring Benjamin Britten and W.H.Auden. If you haven’t heard it recently, take a look here. [youtube=http://youtu.be/FkLoDg7e_ns]

    I’ve always loved John Betjeman’s love letter to the Metropolitan Line, Metroland[youtube=http://youtu.be/LhIZlJgFgWk]

    This film, Let’s go to Birmingham makes me laugh too… especially as I can glimpse my village at 960mph at one point! [youtube=http://youtu.be/NmPzB0qTy4M]

    Hope you like it…!

  • The shipping forecast goes to China…

    There’s a lovely article here about the shipping forecast, which features contributions from BBC Radio 4 friends Zeb Soanes and Kathy Clugston. Here’s a snippet;

    “It’s part of the fabric of this intangible thing called Britishness,” says Soanes.

    “Just like red telephone boxes, Wimbledon, the chimes of Big Ben, the smell of cut grass, scones and jam.”

    And it is probably not something that would make it onto air in every country of the world.

    “It is eccentric, though you only realise when people come from other countries – they are completely baffled by it,” says Clugston.

    They mention the fact that the forecast made its way into the Beijing Olympics closing ceremony within a piece I wrote called ‘This is London’.
    Here’s Zeb featured in that track along with Elspeth Hanson and the London Symphony Orchestra.[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/36930051″ iframe=”true” /]
